A wonderful & fun boat trip to Bowen Island

Last month I was lucky enough to spend an incredible day sailing around the Bowen Islands of Vancouver, BC. During day I kept a diary, but as there was no Wi-Fi, I wrote it all by hand. I’m so used to blogging on my I pad , I found it so refreshing to put pen to paper and physically write down my thoughts. There’s something very poetic about writing a diary in such beautiful surroundings! Following my digital Detox, I have typed it up for you to all enjoy on my blog.

I have always believed that boats have some special magic to them. I realize that they are inanimate objects but somehow boats are able to capture our imagination and connect with us on a different level. Lighthouse   is a symbol of West Vancouver, one of Vancouver’s most beautiful structure. The Lighthouse - A symbol of strength and protection. All around, it's just beautiful nature and endless big blue sea. It's a place where you can sit and listen to the waves crashing against the cliffs as you watch the seagulls joyfully fly around in circles.
You are excited to escape the city and set sail for your island getaway. You can already smell the salty sea air and feel the warm sun on your face. While Bowen Island is a popular pick for adventurers I can enjoy the nature and Namaste on Bowen Island.
For many Vancouverites, Bowen Island is a well-kept secret and  if you’re looking for a quiet, intimate day trip to celebrate your love to nature it is the number one spot to visit.
Take a stroll along the picturesque marina with buildings from the early 1900’s. Snug Cove was once a summer resort where Vancouverites spent holiday time, and housed the largest dance hall in BC.
On a little island, up a tiny hill, overlooking an expansive view of ocean, mountains & forest, you'll find a French-inspired and welcoming café. During the day, the scent of fresh baked breads float through the air. This smell triggered my chilhood memories.

After we got back to the city I had time to watch scenic Burrad Bridge. I wanted to close my eyes and let the silence swallow me whole. I love my city and in there thousand of reasons to love Vancouver.
